A woman suspected of fatally stabbing a man at a Pasadena residence was in custody Friday, police announced.
Pasadena police officers responded to the 200 block of East Orange Grove Boulevard, near Marengo Avenue, at 12:33 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a “trouble unknown” call and discovered an unresponsive man with multiple stab wounds, authorities said.
Paramedics from the city’s fire department attempted live-saving-measures but were unable to revive 38-year-old Pasadena resident Cory Davis, who they pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested Shante Ferguson, 41, of Upland, and booked her on suspicion of homicide, resisting arrest and two unspecified misdemeanor charges.
Officers detained a second woman at the residence, but it was unclear if she was arrested or booked.
The motive for the stabbing remains unknown as Pasadena police detectives investigate.
Anyone with information about the stabbing was asked to contact the Pasadena Police Department, 626-744-4241. Anonymous tipsters may use Crime Stoppers, 800-222-8477 or lacrimestoppers.org.
