Police Tuesday sought the public’s help to locate the man wanted in connection with a shooting in South Los Angeles that left one man dead and two others wounded.
The shooting occurred around 2 a.m. on Oct. 23 in the 6200 block of South San Pedro Street, between Slauson and Gage avenues, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The three men were in the area and were standing outside their vehicles when they were approached by the suspect on foot, police said. Multiple rounds were fired at the victims and the suspect fled the scene in a black 2007 Mercedes-Benz that belonged to one of the victims.
The three victims, between the ages of 30 and 40, were taken by paramedics to a hospital, where one died and the other two had stable vital signs, police said.
The black 2007 Mercedes-Benz stolen from the scene was found abandoned on the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway at Exposition Boulevard, but the suspect was not found.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 18 and 22 years old, between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 170 to 180 pounds.
It was not known if the shooting was gang related, police said.
