14-year-old girl reported missing in East Los Angeles found safe

A 14-year-old girl who was last seen in East Los Angeles has been found safe, authorities announced Tuesday.

Amber Celia Mendoza was last seen about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 700 Block of Fetterly Avenue, near James A. Garfield High School, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department sought the public’s help to find her.

The sheriff’s department announced Tuesday afternoon that Amber had been found safe. No further details were released.
