Sam Kang, recently appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Sienza, Inc. will address the MADIA Tech Launch meeting on Wednesday, June 8, from 6:30 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend either in person or via Zoom.

Kang, known locally for his service as a Duarte City Councilmember and former mayor, has been involved in the green tech and energy field for some time, most recently as the Head of Total Solutions for BYD where he was in charge of solutions for electric vehicle systems for school buses.

Sienza, Inc. is a company that was incubated at Caltech, and is locally-heaquartered with goals to impact the international battery market for electric vehicles (EV) and consumer electronics.

Kang will discuss Sienza’s radical approach to design and manufacture batteries with environmental sustainability with a unique 3D architecture. Their goal is to deliver EV batteries that deliver twice the range and half the cost. Their technology approach is applicable to other consumer battery systems as well.

The public is invited to attend either in person or via Zoom: both options require advance registration via the link at MADIAtech.org. In-person tickets can be ordered for $16.60 by noon June 7, and include a delicious and healthy dinner catered by Little Green Forks. Virtual attendance via Zoom is free, but requires advance registration.

MADIA Tech Launch is a 501(c)(3) educational organization supporting the technology and entrepreneurial community in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley foothills.
