Authorities on Wednesday sought additional potential victims of a 60-year-old school teacher who allegedly sexually abused two girls at a Norwalk middle school.

Scott Waln was arrested Thursday on two felony counts stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred during school hours while Waln was teaching at Los Alisos Middle School, located at 14800 Jersey Ave., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities noted one of the victims was 12 years old at the time of the alleged abuse, and one of the incidents allegedly occurred in 2017. Further details on the crimes were not immediately available.

Waln was charged with one felony count of lewd act upon a child under age 14, and one felony count of forcible lewd act upon a child under age 14. He is being held on $1.2 million bail and is due to appear at the Bellflower Courthouse on Friday.

Anyone who may have been a victim of Waln’s was asked to contact the LASD Special Victims Bureau at 877-710-5273, or by email at specialvictimsbureau@lasd.org.
