A man was shot to death in La Puente, and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives Wednesday are investigating.

Deputies from the Industry Station responded at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Trafalgar Avenue in the South San Jose Hills section of La Puente after receiving a call about a traffic collision and gunshots, said Deputy Tracy Koerner of the sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The deputies found the approximately 30-year-old victim with gunshot wounds to his upper torso, and investigators learned he continued driving after being shot and collided with another vehicle, Koerner said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Koerner said. The occupants of the other vehicle were also taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There was no additional information immediately available.

Anyone with information about the incident was encouraged to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
