The Soraya celebrates its reopening and 10 year anniversary by offering a gift to the public. They’re gifting the public five free concerts that will be presented through the fall season.

The 2021-2022 season starts on Oct. 16, 2021 with a performance by Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, which will also be the first free concert offered to the public. The other free concerts will be:

  • Maestro Esa-Pekka Salonen Conducts the Colburn Orchestra on Nov. 13, 2021
  • Christmas in Vienna with the Vienna Boys Choir on Nov. 20, 2021
  • Disney’s animated feature film Fantasia Live in Concert on Dec. 4, 2021
  • Special Holiday Celebration Nochebuena on Dec. 10, 2021 and Dec. 11, 2021

“This coming fall, when you enter The Soraya’s doors, you know you will have made it—safe and sound, across the threshold into a new era, rejoining a community that embraces artistic excellence and the global expression of our joyful humanity,” said Thor Steingraber, The Soraya’s executive and artistic director. “Reopening The Soraya is more than lighting the lights and unlocking the doors. It’s an invitation to open your hearts, minds, eyes, and ears.”

The whole season will feature nearly 50 performances at the Soraya. The schedule of all performances can be found at thesoraya.org. Any member can secure guaranteed seating starting July 27 to all free concerts. All non-member reservations start on Aug. 24 on a first-come-first-served basis with a limit of four per household.

All seats can be reserved at thesoraya.org. Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) is at 18111 Nordhoff Street, Northridge, CA 91330. Phone: 818-677-3000.
