

One person was killed and two others wounded in a shooting in the Pico-Union area, authorities said Thursday morning.
The shooting was reported about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of 17th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A preliminary investigation determined the suspect approached the three victims, pulled a gun and opened fire, striking each of the victims, police said.
One of the victims drove to a hospital and two others were taken to a hospital by paramedics. One of those taken to the hospital was pronounced dead, the department said.
A detailed description of the shooter and motive for the shooting were not immediately available.
