A search was underway Tuesday for two suspects sought in the shooting death of a man in Long Beach.
Officers went to the 100 block of West Forhan Street about 10:35 p.m. Monday on reports of a shooting and found the wounded victim on the sidewalk near the intersection of Forhan and Long Beach Boulevard. Long Beach Fire Department personnel pronounced the man, whose name was not immediately released, dead at the scene.
Long Beach homicide detectives believe the man was approached and held at gunpoint by two suspects wearing dark clothing and masks. At least one of the suspects shot him several times before both fled the area on foot traveling westbound on West Forhan Street from Long Beach Boulevard, police said. A motive was unclear.
Anyone with information of the shooting was asked to contact LBPD homicide Detectives Eric Thai or Juan Carlos Reyes at 562-570-7244. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
