The coroner’s office Tuesday released the names of two men shot to death in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area of Los Angeles in a Memorial Day attack in which a third man was also wounded.
The shooting occurred just after 1 a.m. Monday in the 6600 block of Makee Avenue, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Ismael Figueroa Morales, 39, of San Antonio, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Salvador Sandoval, a 23-year-old Los Angeles resident, died at a hospital of gunshot wounds to the upper body, Schrader said.
Another 23-year-old man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds to his legs, she said.
“Deputies received information there was a gathering at the location. A white sedan pulled up, a possible argument ensued, at which time gunfire erupted,” she said. “The suspect vehicle fled in an unknown direction.”
Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call homicide detectives at 323-890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
