October Fun for Kids at Arcadia Library
ArcadiaPublic Library is offering three fun, free experiences for kids of all agesduring October.
Startingon Oct. 3, Arcadia Public Library is hosting the annual In-N-Out “Cover toCover Club.” It’s a bit different this year, but children ages 4 to 12 canregister for the program which lets them earn a coupon for a free In-N-Outhamburger, cheeseburger, or cheese sandwich just by reading five books. Eachchild may earn up to three coupons during the program, which ends on Saturday,Nov. 14. This year, however, kids will log their book titles online using theLibrary’s “Cover to Cover Club” database. Coupons are earned upon reading andlogging five, 10, or 15 titles. Coupons will be available for pick-up byappointment only starting Monday, Oct. 12. For social distancing purposes, onlyone appointment can be scheduled per family and all earned coupons must bepicked up at the same time. To schedule an appointment, call (626) 294-4834.
Crafty kids (sixth to eighth graders) are invited to try the new “Stitching Together” program, starting on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and continuing every Wednesday at 4 p.m. through Oct. 28. This program is perfect for middle schoolers who want to learn to knit. This month’s project is a pair of fingerless gloves. Registration is required, call (626) 821-5566 to sign up.
What’sHalloween without fun crafts to try in the weeks before trick or treat? CreepyCrawly Crafternoons, a virtual program for kids of all ages, takes place onSaturdays at 3 p.m. starting Oct. 10. Kids will earn how to make some creepycreations just in time for Halloween. A limited supply of free craft kits willbe available for each program.
