City of Monrovia Presents Halloween Happenings

TheCityof Monrovia is excited to present Halloween Happenings throughout the month ofOctober. Whether a little ghost or full-grown goblin, there’s somethingfantastic for all this Halloween.

Registrations are required for all programs and fees may apply. Sign-up for the programs by visiting cityofmonrovia.org.

Halloween MovieNights at Recreation Park 

Put on your costumeand head down to Recreation Park to enjoy Halloween movie nights. Attendeeswill have the opportunity to show off their costumes, get their fill of sweetsand goodies and end the night with a Halloween movie.

Movie Schedule

  • Oct. 3: “Hocus Pocus.”
  • Oct. 17: “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
  • Oct. 31: “Halloweentown.”

This program isfree for Monrovia residents and $15 for non-residents. To ensure the health andsafety of the community and COVID-19 guidelines are met, all programs will havedesignated family reservation spots that are six feet apart from others and facemasks are required. These events are sponsored by PrimeLending and SierraFamily of Dealerships.

Halloween HomeDecorating Contest

Turn your home intoa “Spooktacular” showstopper for all to enjoy and enter the Halloween HomeDecoration Contest. This contest is free and open to Monrovia residents only.Residents must register for the contest by Friday, Oct. 16. Judging will takeplace on the week of Oct. 19. After the winners are announced, a map will bepublished for the community to take a driving tour and see the festivedisplays.

Jack-o-LanternCarving Contest

Get into theHalloween spirit and join in on the pumpkin carving fun.Thoseinterested in the Jack-o-Lantern Carving Contest must submit their carvings byOct. 19. Judging will take place on the week of Oct. 19.Winnerswill be selected and notified on Oct. 30. The city will share a video, onYouTube, of all pumpkin carving submissions on Oct. 31.

Old Town MonroviaWindow Decorations 

Make time thisOctober to stroll through Old Town Monrovia and take in the wicked sightsadorned on merchant’s windows. Wear a Halloween costume and see what treats maycome your way.
