Arcadia Crime Blotters: Sept. 20-26

Sept.20

At3:15 a.m., an officer witnessed a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the roadnear the intersection of Huntington Drive and La Cadena Avenue. An officerinitiated a traffic stop and detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from thedriver’s breath. Through a series of tests, the officer discovered the 37-year-oldmale from Rosemead had a blood alcohol content of .150%. The suspect wasarrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At2:21 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of GoldenWest Avenue and Longden Avenue regarding an activation of an Arcadia PoliceDepartment GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy bicycleswith tracking devices to combat the increase in bike thefts throughout thecity. An investigation revealed a 38-year-old male from El Monte was in possessionof the stolen bicycle and GPS tracker. The suspect was arrested and transportedto the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Sept.21

At9:17 a.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of East Wistaria Avenue regardinga vehicle burglary report. The officer determined unknown suspect(s) entered twovehicles and stole various tools.  Theinvestigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.

At12:38 p.m., an officer responded to Springhill Suites, located at 99 N. SecondAve., regarding a grand theft report. The victim stated he left his bag containingtwo cellphones and a wallet on a bench. He later discovered the bag had gonemissing. There is no surveillance footage or suspect information at this time.

Sept.22

At10:37 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of WestFoothill Boulevard regarding a burglary investigation. The officer determinedtwo transients were sleeping at the location, they had damaged the walls in oneof the rooms and were in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.A 36-year-old male from Pasadena and a 33-year-old male from Bakersfield werearrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. During recordchecks of the suspects, the officer discovered the 36-year-old male had twooutstanding misdemeanor warrants.

At1:10 p.m., an officer took a telephonic report of a fraud incident. The victimstated he recently received two credit application rejection letters, eventhough he never applied for any credit cards. The victim does not know the identityof the suspect(s) or how they obtained his personal information.

Sept.23

At8:11 a.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of West Foothill Boulevardregarding a burglary report. The officer determined that sometime after ArcadiaPolice Department responded on Sept. 22, unknown suspect(s) attempted to enterthe location and steal electricity but failed. No suspects were located. There isno suspect information at this time.

At4:06 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of West LongdenAvenue regarding a mail theft report. A witness reported seeing the suspectopen several mailboxes and flee with something in his hand. The suspect fled inan older model: brown, four-door sedan west bound. The suspect is described asa male Hispanic, short, heavyset, seen wearing a black hat, white shirt, blueshorts, and carrying a gray backpack. Assisting officers and an airship conductedan area check but were unsuccessful.

Sept.24

At1:22 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of CaliforniaStreet regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed an argumentbetween a couple resulted in the suspect biting and striking the victim. Thesuspect, a 28-year-old male from Arcadia, was arrested and transported to theArcadia City Jail for booking.

At10:48 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of El Dorado Streetregarding a burglary report. The officer discovered unknown suspect(s) entered thevictim’s vehicle by unknown means and stole the garage door opener. The suspect(s)then used the garage door opener to enter the garage and steal campingequipment and electronics. A witness reported seeing a masked male outside ofthe garage at the time of the crime. There is no further suspect information atthis time.

Sept.25

At10:20 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of West LasFlores Avenue regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered someone fraudulentlyaccessed his Western Union account and transferred $500 to an unidentified individualin Serbia. There is no suspect information as of time of this report.

At6:26 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of SouthBaldwin Avenue regarding a residential burglary report. The resident witnessed,via security cameras, a suspect enter the residence through the front door,briefly walk through the residence, then exit through the front door emptyhanded.The suspect is described as a stocky Hispanic male, seen wearing a black T-shirt,and blue basketball shorts. The victim is not desirous of prosecution.

Sept.26

At10:41 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, located at 300W. Huntington Drive, regarding a disturbance report. The officer was informedabout an argument between a husband and wife that resulted in the wifesustaining visible injuries. The suspect, a 75-year-old male from Covina, wasarrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

At6:35 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of CaliforniaStreet regarding a burglary report. The victim witnessed two suspects enter hisside yard and another witness saw the suspects flee to a silver SUV with a stolensuitcase. The suspects are described as two heavyset Hispanic males, bothwearing face masks. There is no additional suspect information at this time.
