The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has identified the 23-year-old Hispanic male killed at a house party in Arcadia as Gustavo Lopez.

Lopez died of multiple gunshot wounds on Aug. 31 during a house party on the 2800 block of Caroline Way in Arcadia. He was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident is still under investigation, but Arcadia police said an argument might have led to the shooting.

A GoFundMe created for Lopez’s funeral and memorial services says he was “trying to stop a fight that was going on and as he tried to get the victim off the floor he realized the other guys had guns and tried to run away to save his life, as he was running away he was shot with two bullets one entering both legs and the other going through his liver and getting stuck in his lung.”

According to the fundraising page, Lopez leaves behind a 1-year-old.
