

TheCity of Monrovia encourages residents and business owners to participate in theArt in Public Places logo contest.
Interestedartists must submit designs by Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. The contest winner willreceive $500. This logo should reflect the culture, values and characteristicsof Monrovia. The contest is open to Monrovia residents and business owners ofall ages. The logo must include the words “Monrovia” and “Art in Public Places”and incorporate Myrtle leaves. Establishedin 2004, Art in Public Places supports the creation of public art through avariety of programs and projects. The program extends the reach of public artinto the community by sponsoring the artists to paint utility boxes, murals,Samson the Bear statues and more.
