This Friday, April 10, starting at 10 a.m., Monrovia Unified School District (MUSD) teachers will be on parade, driving through the community honking and waving to their students. The teachers themselves came up with the idea.
The district has come up with a few simple safety directions. They urge all parents and students to remain in their own yards or doorways. They urge everyone to practice social distancing if they encounter someone else outdoors. Wear a mask when outside. Make a sign to show your support for the teachers.
The district has been divided up into five areas corresponding to the five elementary schools. Some of the teachers at Monrovia High School will join each parade. Teachers from Clifton will participate in the Mayflower, Bradoaks and Wild Rose parades. The Monroe, Plymouth and again the Wild Rose parades will include some teachers from Santa Fe. Teachers from the Childhood Early Learning Center will parade with Wild Rose. Please be aware that the teachers will not be able to travel down every street.
On Friday when you hear he horns, put on your mask and step outside to show the teachers that you appreciate what they are doing.
