“Animation Outlaws” Screening with Kat Alioshin Los Angeles Times Media Center at ArtCenter College of Design from 7–10 p.m. (1700 Lida St., Pasadena, CA 91103). “Animation Outlaws” is a new documentary that tells animation legends Spike and Mike’s story through the voices of the legendary directors that they impacted: Tim Burton, Pete Docter, Nick Park, Peter Lord, Everett Peck, Bruno Bozzetto, Andrew Stanton, as well as many others. John Brewer — Eli and Edythe Broad Professor of History and Literature, Emeritus, Caltech — examines the changing debate about how the history and aesthetics of Mount Vesuvius and the cities destroyed in its eruption in 79 C.E. were used in the Age of Revolutions.
