Arcadia Crime Blotters: Feb. 9–15

Feb. 9

Shortly before 3:58 p.m., an officer responded to Lululemon, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a grand theft report. The store employee witnessed two suspects steal approximately $3 thousand worth of merchandise. The suspects are described as two black males, both 6’ tall, with thin builds, approximately 20 to 30-years-old, and one was wearing a black NASA sweatshirt while the other was wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt. The investigation is ongoing. These suspects are also responsible for a similar theft from Victoria’s Secret that occurred shortly after the Lululemon theft.

At approximately 5:43 p.m., an officer responded to 99 Cents Only Store, 140 E. Duarte Road, regarding a grand theft report. As the victim was loading her child into her car, the unknown male suspect stole her stroller and purse. He fled in a grey sedan. The victim’s credit cards were used to complete fraudulent transactions at Target in Rosemead. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 20 to 25-years-old, seen wearing a baggy shirt. The driver of the vehicle was a black female with curly, shoulder-length hair. The investigation is ongoing.

Feb. 10

Just after 12:32 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of East Camino Real Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspects entered through a rear window, they ransacked the home, and fled with cash, jewelry, and watches. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 11:22 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of West Naomi Avenue regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects approached the victim’s porch and fled with three pairs of shoes, including one high end, extremely rare pair of shoes. The suspects are described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 30 and 35, with a short bears, brown hair, and seen wearing an Adidas hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect was a Hispanic female, approximately 25 to 30-years-old, with shoulder length hair and wearing a white hooded sweatshirt. The investigation is ongoing.

Feb. 11

Around 5:37 a.m., an officer responded to Vons, 745 W. Naomi Ave., regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 5:10 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2003 Toyota Sequoia. The vehicle was located by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department in the City of Temple City. The investigation is ongoing.

Just before 10:05 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a fraud report. The victim discovered the suspect opened fraudulent accounts using the victim’s personal information and charged a total of $2,295 in fraudulent transactions. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained her personal information or the identity of the suspect.

Feb. 12

Around 12:50 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Paloma Drive regarding a fraud report. Against the victim’s knowledge or consent, an unknown suspect used the victim’s banking information and routing number to withdraw more than $20,000. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained her personal information or the identity of the suspect.

Shortly after 2:28 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Watson Drive regarding a residential burglary report. The officer determined the unknown suspect(s) smashed a front window, ransacked the home, and fled with an unknown amount of property. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Feb. 13

Before 7:19 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Santa Anita Terrace regarding a mail theft report. An investigation revealed 14 residential mail boxes had been tampered with and an undetermined amount of mail had been stolen. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Around 11:02 a.m., an officer responded to Vons, 745 West Naomi Avenue, regarding a shoplifting report. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects stole $1,581.00 worth of alcohol on January 10, 2020. The suspects are responsible for a similar theft that occurred on Jan. 14. The investigation is ongoing.

Feb. 14

At about 6:01 a.m., an officer responded to the area of First and Norman avenues regarding multiple mail theft reports. Sometime during the previous night, an unknown suspect opened multiple residential mail boxes and scattered unwanted mail in the street. The investigation is ongoing.

Just before 10:14 a.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Public Library, 20 W. Duarte Road, regarding a vandalism report. The officer discovered the suspect smeared feces on the wall of the men’s restroom to spell a racial slur. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Feb. 15

Shortly after 8:09 a.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of West Duarte Road regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between Feb. 13 and 15, the suspect smashed one of the windows and fled with a backpack and projection equipment. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

At approximately 2:27 p.m., an officer responded to the 1600 block of Holly Avenue regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed bait packages to combat the increase in package thefts from residential areas. The package was tracked to the City of Azusa in an abandoned vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
