Arcadia Crime Blotters: Oct. 6 – Oct. 12

Oct. 6

Shortly before 3:20 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2200 block of South Sixth Avenue regarding a residential burglary and stolen vehicle report. The officer discovered the victim’s ex-girlfriend entered the victim’s home through an unlocked patio door, stole the ignition key to his vehicle, and stole the vehicle. The 36-year-old female from Gardena is outstanding as of Oct. 15.

At approximately 9:32 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Duarte Road and Golden West Avenue regarding a notification of a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers located the vehicle and discovered there is an ongoing dispute between the registered owner, the driver, and the passenger. A records check revealed the passenger, a 26-year-old male from Bellflower, had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The driver was released since the registered owner declined prosecution.

Oct. 7

Just after 12:54 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Colorado Boulevard regarding a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers located the vehicle and a records check of the occupants revealed a 29-year-old female passenger from Pasadena had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and was in possession of a controlled substance. The driver, a 32-year-old female from Upland, was arrested on the stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia charges and was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A third occupant was released at the scene.

At approximately 7:04 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Monte Verde Drive regarding an assault report between a husband and a wife. An investigation revealed the husband pushed his wife twice during an argument. The 54-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Oct. 8

Around 2:39 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Hungate Lane and Fairview Avenue regarding a traffic collision of a vehicle that had hit a curb. An investigation revealed the driver was likely under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. The 32-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just before 4:00 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of El Dorado Street regarding a fraud report. Upon checking his credit report, the victim discovered an unidentified suspect had opened a fraudulent account in his name. The victim doesn’t know how the suspect obtained his personal information or their identity.

Oct. 9

Around 11:21 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia High School, 180 Campus Drive, regarding a student in possession of a controlled substance. The 17-year-old male from Arcadia was found in possession of cocaine and was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Shortly after 5:38 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a theft report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect, a 19-year-old female from Walnut, used a magnetic tool to defeat the anti-theft sensors and stole $60.00 worth of merchandise. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Oct. 10

Before 11:50 a.m., an officer responded 24 Hour Fitness, 125 North First Avenue, regarding a theft from vehicle report. The officer determined the unidentified suspect entered the vehicle through unknown means, possibly through the open windows, and fled with the victim’s wallet and cellphone. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Around 1:03 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Golden West Avenue and Duarte Road regarding the notification of a stolen vehicle in the vicinity. Officers located the vehicle and a records check revealed the driver, a 35-year-old female from Victorville, had an outstanding felony warrant. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Oct. 11

At about 2:47 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of West Huntington Drive regarding an aggravated assault report. An investigation revealed the victim’s ex-boyfriend entered the victim’s home, falsely imprisoned her for six days, pushed her, threw a glass bottle at her, and prevented her from calling 911. The 30-year-old male from Sierra Madre is outstanding as of Oct. 15.

Just before 4:41 p.m., an officer responded to the Alberton’s parking lot, 298 East Live Oak Avenue, regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim discovered her car window had been smashed and the suspect fled with a purse and makeup bag. Surveillance footage captured the suspect flee in a white Chevrolet truck. The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 12

Shortly after 9:19 a.m., an officer responded to Taco Bell/KFC, 849 South Baldwin Avenue, regarding a commercial burglary report. An unknown white male smashed the front glass window, stole approximately $846.00 from the safe, and fled. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., an officer responded to US Bank, 101 East Foothill Boulevard, regarding an attempted commercial burglary. Surveillance footage revealed unknown suspects attempted to enter the bank by trying to smash the glass windows but failed. The investigation is ongoing.
