Arcadia’s Energy Efficient Street Lighting Program to Start Next Month
The City of Arcadia says Southern California Edison (SCE) is replacing SCE owned inefficient High Pressure Sodium (HPS) street lights with energy efficient Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights on residential and arterial streets. While a HPS light produces a brownish light, an LED light provides a more pure light. Conversion to the new LED technology will help reduced energy usage and cost by approximately $11,500 annually.
It is anticipated that SCE’s contractors will start replacing approximately 2,500 existing street light fixtures in early October 2019.
