Monrovia had a Carnegie Library at the same location in Library Park where the present library is located. It was built in 1907 and was torn down in 1957 to make way for a more “modern” library. – Courtesy photo / MOHPG

On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Monrovia Historic Preservation Group (MOHPG) will conduct another walking tour of Downtown Monrovia. The cost of the tour is $5 per person with proceeds directly benefiting MOHPG. The tour covers past and present information about the town and some of the many aspects which make Monrovia such a unique place in which to live.

The tour starts at 10 a.m. at the southeast corner of Myrtle and Palm avenues and lasts about two hours. Vintage photographs are used to show what the town looked like over 100 years ago. To date over 100 people have taken the tour.
