Pasadena League of Women Voters Will Begin Month with Ice Cream Social
Cool, soothing, and delicious sundaes; listening to Dixieland; and mingling among friends and other amazing people. That’s what the League of Women Voters Pasadena Area promises at a favorite summer event on Aug. 5 from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to gather for an old-fashioned ice cream social under the shade of trees and umbrellas in the patio at 65 S. Grand Ave. in Pasadena.
That’s the site of the League office at the Western Justice Center, where there is free parking down the street across from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in the historic Vista Del Arroyo Hotel.
Besides savoring Fosselman’s ice cream and sorbet with a choice of luscious toppings, young and old alike will have a chance to get acquainted with elected dignitaries and the League. There will also be a silent auction – a mountain home vacation and Pasadena Playhouse tickets, for example – and a $100 Money Hat Raffle.
Tickets are intentionally affordable for families, students, and low-income folk. Tickets are $10 for the first member of a household and $5 for each additional person, but free for children under 13. Student tickets are $5.
Those signing up online have the opportunity to become a sponsor. A $250 Banana Split sponsorship level includes six tickets, a $100 Chocolate Sundae level gets four tickets, a $50 Double Scoop Cone level gets two tickets and a $25 Gourmet Ice Cream Cone level includes one ticket. Of course donations in any amount are welcome. Donations are tax deductible.
Tickets are available online at lwv-pa.org or by calling (626) 798-0965, and can be picked up at the welcome table at the event.
