While it might be only Jennifer Estrada’s sophomore season as head coach of Arcadia girls’ volleyball, she has already established a culture that is sure to take the Apaches to new heights in 2018.

Estrada and Arcadia made a good impression last season by putting together a 22-7 overall record and finishing 12-2 in Pacific League action, good enough for second place behind Burroughs. The team qualified for CIF where they defeated rivals Monrovia in the opener but fell to La Salle in next round.

This year, Arcadia has an 18-game, regular-season slate with the season opening on Aug. 15 with a match against Covina. The Apaches will then begin league play on Aug. 28 with a game against Pasadena that will fall in the middle of a four-game road swing.

Once Arcadia returns from the road trip, the team will play six of its following seven games at their gym. The last time the Apaches felt championship glory was in 2016 where they went 14-0 in league while making it all the way to the CIF quarterfinals where they came up short against Sierra Canyon 3-1.
