The Monrovia Fire Department is urging everyone to begin preparing for the next wildfire. As the events of the past several months have illustrated, a tragic wildfire can strike at any time. In fact, Monrovia Firefighters responded to the 2017 wildfires that raged throughout the State, and ultimately, over 10,000 structures were lost in California during the past year.
In Monrovia, given the threat of fire for our community, the Monrovia Fire Department personnel have designed a class to help teach residents ways in which they assess the fire vulnerability of their own homes. In addition, fire personnel will provide options and possible solutions to help improve the chances that your home survives during the next wildfire. It’s encouraged that you save the date and makes time to attend this important seminar.
Additionally, Monrovia firefighting personnel who responded to the 2017 wildfires in California will be participating to provide a first-hand account of what they saw during the most recent conflagrations, and how you can help give your home the best chances of surviving a wildfire.
The event will take place on May 5, 2018, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the Monrovia Community Center in the Kay Dalton Room. To RSVP, or if you have any questions, please call (626) 256-8109
