Recently, Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (ChapCare) opened a new state-of-the-art dental clinic at its Peck health center. The four-chair dental clinic is available to ChapCare patients and to underrepresented, underserved, and underinsured families in El Monte, South El Monte, and its surrounding areas.
ChapCare’s dental services include the provision of preventive, diagnostic, and restorative dental services, which are available to children and adults regardless of their ability to pay. Preventive care includes cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants to prevent Early Childhood Caries (ECC). Diagnostic services include oral exams with x-rays. Restorative care includes fillings, pulpotomies, and stainless steel crowns and space maintainers. Additional services include tooth extractions, gum treatments, and partial and full dentures. Emergency services are provided on a walk-in basis.
“ChapCare has made providing dental services an organizational priority since it is often an overlooked part of the patient’s primary care,” said Margaret B. Martinez, MPH, ChapCare’s Chief Executive Officer. “Lack of access to dental care can cause dental pain, which can affect a person’s overall health as well as other areas of their life such as their ability to attend work or school. We are proud to expand access to dental services in the City of El Monte and its surrounding areas with the opening of our third dental clinic, at our Peck health center.”
ChapCare’s Peck health center is conveniently located at 3703 Peck Road, Suite A, El Monte, CA 91731. It is easily accessible via Foothill Transit and the Metro bus. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other services that are available at ChapCare’s Peck health center include primary medical care (family medicine, pre-natal, and pediatrics), and health insurance screening and enrollment.
ChapCare provides low-or no-cost health services (Medi-Cal and Medicare), accepts many Covered California plans, and participates in Los Angeles County’s My Health LA Program (currently for medical services only).
