Temple deputies and LA County Fire responded to 1 1/2 acre #Spinksfire #roadclosure @Sunnyvale, Vinyard and Encanto Parkway area of Duarte Monday afternoon. No homes were damages and no injuries reported.

Excessive heat is always a bad sign for firefighters, but this early in the season is unusual for brushfires. However, fire personnel have prepared and responded extremely quickly to quell the incident before it consumed any homes. CDF and Los Angeles County Fire helicopters made several drops to assist the firefighters on the ground and the fire was out in an hour and half.

The small wildfire was first reported around 3:30 p.m. Los Angeles County Fire estimated the blaze burned about one and a half acres before it was extinguished after 5 p.m.

Officials said no structures were damaged. The cause of the two small fires remain under investigation.
