An Old-Fashioned Holiday at the Queen Anne Cottage (Dec. 11 @ 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, 301 N. Baldwin Ave.) Stroll down memory lane and view treasures and furnishings normally seen only through the windows of the charming Victorian-era cottage. The dwelling, decorated in its’ Christmas finery, has become a Southland tradition for holiday visitors. Tours will be available throughout the day. Sounds of Christmas 2016 (Dec. 8 @ 7 p.m., Lake Avenue Church, 393 N. Lake Ave.) Come join Sounds of Christmas 2016, as 20 young artists from the Small Beginnings, Crescendo, and Drum-Central programs take the stage to showcase their voice, piano, and drumming talents with Christmas melodies and rhythms. A Cinderella Christmas (Dec. 8 @ 7 p.m., The Pasadena Playhouse, 39 S. El Molino Ave.) Panto at The Playhouse , now in its fifth year, has become a “must do” holiday tradition for Southern California residents. A Cinderella Christmas is the latest Holiday Spectacular presented by The Pasadena Playhouse and Lythgoe Family Panto in the style of the traditional British Panto. A Panto is interactive holiday fun for all ages, and the timeless tale of Cinderella will feature comedy, magic, dancers from “So You Think You Can Dance” and contemporary music from Taylor Swift to The Bee Gees.

Christmas Craft Workshop (Dec. 9 @ 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Knot Too Shabby, 302 S. Myrtle Ave.) There’s nothing like homemade decor for the holidays. Learn how to create your very own holiday decorations. During this workshop, you will learn how to create pom-poms for holiday garlands, large burlap bows and gilded glass jars that we will turn into ornaments. Homeless Memorial Service (Dec.13 @ 6 p.m., All Saints Church, 132 N. Euclid Ave.) Each year, thousands of homeless men and women die on the streets of our nation due to illness, exposure or violence, many from our very own community of Pasadena. These individuals die without the dignity and respect they deserve. Please join All Saints Church as everyone honors and acknowledge their lives and membership in the human family. Mayor Diana Mahmud and the City of South Pasadena (City) invite residents and community members to consider the results of this focus at the 2016 State of the City Address.
