Monrovia staff met via conference call this past week with the Tharaldson Hospitality Group (THG) development team regarding the proposed Marriott Towneplace Suites Hotel for the southwest corner of Myrtle Avenue and Huntington Drive.

The THG development team has made good progress these past few weeks in developing the details needed to entitle the proposed project. As part of the work that has been engaged to date, city staff has been working with THGs environmental compliance team to perform the reviews necessary for the proposed hotel project.

An important element associated with the environmental review is to hold a scoping meeting with the community to outline details related to the proposed project and to receive feedback regarding potential issues of concern.

Based on discussions to date, the scoping meeting for the hotel project is tentatively scheduled to be held on Oct. 13.

The city will be sure to share additional details related to the meeting as soon as they are available.
