The dinner was fully catered by Paco’s Mexican Restaurant of Arcadia. Tina Karagias , also a Model in the Show, is the owner of Paco’s and was so generous to donate extra trays of chicken fajitas, enchiladas, and rice when she was noticed that food was running low for the large turnout of extra guests.
The fun-filled event also gave community oriented residents and leaders an opportunity connect with one another. Kristy won the raffle prize of teeth whitening.
All of the models, who participated in the vintage themed fashion show were women from the local community businesses, leaderships and fun residents who were happy to volunteer their time. Salon Visage San Marino (owner Kristine Sansevieri) served as hair stylist for all of the models.
“City Council Woman, April Verlato is such an amazing woman. April is about serving her community with open arms. April volunteered and took time from her very hectic schedule to model for our annual vintage fashion show. I am so impressed with her style and her grace.” – Raquel Mc Laughlin of Vintage Treasures & Antiques Arcadia
“It was such a success that it became a standing room only at one point,” said Raquel Mc Laughlin of Vintage Treasures & Antiques. “We are so grateful to sponsors, guests, many volunteers, and so many great compliments received from our community. Next year, Annual Vintage Fashion Show will have to be at a Hotel to accommodate the high demand.”
Raquel McLaughlin is now designing her collection of hats in time for The Breeder’s Cup World Championships in November.
Mc Laughlin saw the value in bringing back the art of millinery and showcasing hats out of Arcadia. There are so many talented hat designers all over the world and Arcadia needs a presence.
Raquel will be looking for local women who may wish to model her new hat collection.
Her inspiration is women of vintage who have paved the way for the women of today.
