A mosaic depicting iris, the Monrovia city flower, has been added at the base of the kinetic sculpture in front of Monrovia’s City Hall.

The work on the mosaic was done by two artists from the Monrovia Association of Fire Arts, based on a drawing by a member of that group.

It is a fitting addition, at the mosaic actually shows the iris in its true form, with grouping of three petals, unlike the sculpture, whose creator gave the same flower a four-petal grouping. It must be supposed that was artistic license.
