Breeders’ Cup and America’s Best Racing Tap Celebrity Ambassadors to Offer Once-in-A-Lifetime Experiences at 2016 World Championships

Breeders’ Cup, one of Thoroughbred horseracing’s most prestigious international events, has recently announced the launch of a new multi-faceted sweepstakes with five of its most high-profile Celebrity Ambassadors, including Bobby Flay, Elizabeth Banks, Carson Kressley, Bob Baffert, and Victor Espinoza.

The sweepstakes, titled Racing with Stars VIP Sweepstakes, presented by America’s Best Racing, is open now through Oct. 9, 2016.

The new initiative was developed to add to the excitement of the 2016 Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series, which is made up of 78 “Win and You’re In” races that take place in 12 countries around the world and guarantee the winning horses a starting spot in the 2016 Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

The television and social-media driven sweepstakes will be centered around Breeders’ Cup’s nine telecasts on NBC Sports and will offer participants the chance to win one of four once-in-a-lifetime experiences hosted by the Celebrity Ambassadors at the 2016 Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

“Over the past several years, the Breeders’ Cup has established itself as not only a premier sporting event, but also as one of the world’s most prestigious lifestyle and entertainment events, and the new celebrity sweepstakes reaffirms our commitment to this vision,” said Breeders’ Cup President and CEO Craig Fravel. “We are excited to provide yet another way for our fans to engage with the sport throughout the summer leading up to the Breeders’ Cup, and to celebrate with the winners in the fall at Santa Anita. We especially thank our Ambassadors for their continued support and for helping to promote our great sport to a broader audience.”

Following the sweepstakes launch participants will have the chance to win four once-in-a-lifetime experiences at the 2016 Breeders’ Cup World Championships that highlight different elements of the Breeders’ Cup experience, from the excitement of world championship racing, to rich fashion traditions to celebrity treatment, to a culinary extravaganza. Each experience is hosted by a different celebrity ambassador and shaped by their area of expertise.

“We are thrilled to support the Racing with the Stars VIP Sweepstakes,” said James L. Gagliano, president and chief operating officer of The Jockey Club. “The sweepstakes perfectly aligns with America’s Best Racing’s mission to increase the profile and visibility of North America’s best Thoroughbred racing events, and we look forward to building excitement and anticipation for the 2016 Breeders’ Cup World Championships this summer.”

To enter the sweepstakes, visit BreedersCupVIP.com. Fans may only enter to win one of the four experiences. During the sweepstakes, fans can earn points by engaging with and sharing specific Breeders’ Cup related content. For every 100 points earned, fans receive an extra entry in the sweepstakes. Points are awarded for a variety of activities, such as liking Breeders’ Cup on social media, retweeting certain official Breeders’ Cup tweets, or watching the Breeders’ Cup Challenge telecasts on NBC Sports and following the unique Sweepstakes calls-to-action that will be presented during each show.

“Breeders’ Cup weekend is marked on my calendar every year. I grew up going to the races with my dad and my love of the sport has only grown,” said Elizabeth Banks, Breeders’ Cup Ambassador. “From the racing and the fashion, to the beautiful tracks and parties, Breeders’ Cup has it all.”

The 2016 Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia.
