From Coachella and FYF to all of the best undiscovered acts playing around the city, we have Goldenvoice to thank. Always keeping us in the know as to what should be blaring from our headphones we decided to round up a few acts they’ve kept us privy to, many that will be taking stage come Coachella weekend. Make notes, add some tracks to your spring playlist and let the good jams continue.

Coachella 2016 Artists

UNDERWORLD

Underworld

The ambient noise makers crucial to the ’90s electronic scene have brought a new album to the plate titled Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future, just in time for Indio. It’s classic London club beats at it’s finest.

parov-stelar

Parov Stelar

Best known for his jazz-infused dance floor hits, Austrian DJ, producer and recording artist Parov Stelar is releasing his first live album from Pukkelpop. Consider it a taste of what he’ll bring to the desert mid-April.

The-1975-2015-press

The 1975

The existential Matty Healy is still a wordy dreamboat, displaying his tongue-in-cheek attitude to his pop music popularity in his latest album titled I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It.  You can watch him and the band dance around, make intelligent jokes and likely remove an article of clothing at Coachella.

_jack_christine_and_the_queens_16

Christine & The Queens

The French electronic indie pop queen with a penchant for dance will be taking her ’80s style vocals and sound to Indio to perform her self-titled album.

Lapsley-cab-wide

Lapsley

There were few people in the past year that kept up on the charts like Lapsley. With her emotional crooning, the British mood maker will be a nice emotional pause in your line-up schedule.

push_halsey_week1_still_14

Halsey

Selling over one million copies of her 2015 album Badlands, Halsey has made herself a modern quintessenial indie-pop artist. Where Chvrches and Lorde have set a precedent for the genre, NY-based Ashley Frangipane broke in to the same vain with a massive devoted following. We suggest getting to her stage early.

Shows and Releases

Lucius-2016-cred_Piper-Ferguson

Lucius

Marking off touring with Jack White, the Brooklyn duo Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig bring a unique taste of Americana meets pop vocals. Releasing a new album this month produced by Shawn Everett (Julian Casablancas, Weezer), the pair bring a fun evolved sound to their latest venture Good Grief.

breakbot

Breakbot

Few people in the year 2010 weren’t dancing to “Baby, I’m Yours,” a jazzy electro track made for a side step. With a new album titled Still Waters, Breakbot continues on the simplified electronic groove wave.

Mac Demarco

The pepperoni playboy brought his underwater guitar sounds once again in his new album Another One. Always a delightful sunny occurrence, seeing Demarco live is like hitting the perfect joint three times. Just right. Check him out with Jonathan Richman and Tommy Larkins at The Greek May 19th!
