Matt Denny’s Ale House Restaurant has been named Corporate Community Contributor of the Year by the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce.

The 17 year-old Matt Denny’s, which is a model corporate citizen that gives back to the community by supporting dozens of local organizations each year and producing two of its own charity benefit fundraisers, will be recognized during the Chamber’s annual installation dinner on March 31 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.

Also being recognized at the dinner will be Citizen of the Year Bruce McCallum, as well as outgoing Chamber President Andrew Gregson of The Executive Factor.

Tickets are $65 for members, $75 for non-members; sponsored tables and ads may be purchased online in the “shop” area of the Chamber website www.ArcadiaCaChamber.org or by calling the Chamber at (626) 447-2159.

In the past 14 years Matt Denny’s and partner Del Sol Salon have raised $600,000 for children’s cancer research through its annual St. Baldrick’s Day event supported by the Arcadia Police and Fire Departments, Monrovia Police and Fire Departments, kids’ groups, corporate leaders, and city officials.

Another annual event is Matt Denny’s “Bob Mac Classic” golf tournament, which has raised more than $50,000 over 13 years to help support the American Red Cross Arcadia Chapter, Foothill Unity Center, Special Olympics, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, and Wounded Warrior Project.

Matt Denny’s Ale House Restaurant was opened in 1999 by Matt McSweeny and his friend Dennis Hartman.

“Meeting so many great people over the years has been one of the best parts of my job and I look forward to continue building those wonderful relationships,” McSweeny said.
