Twenty Pasadena youth will be partnered with Pasadena Police Officers for a “Shop with a Cop” event on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at 4 p.m. The afternoon shopping spree will take place at Target, 3121 East Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena. Target Corporation has been a longtime supporter of the “Shop with a Cop” initiative and other non-profit youth programs.

The Pasadena Rotary Club has partnered with Target and has committed $2,000 dollars for this program. Gift cards will be purchased in the amount of $100 and given to 20 young people from the Pasadena Boys and Girls Club. This is Pasadena Police Department’s inaugural year in “Shop with a Cop” and we are taking an untraditional approach. In lieu of holiday shopping for toys, which the Police Department sponsored under a separate program, youth will be partnered with uniformed Pasadena Police Officers as they spend the afternoon shopping for back to school clothes and supplies. This approach helps kids be confident and prepared as they return to school for next grade level.
