With the Doc dropping his first album in 16 years just in time for the release of Straight Outta Compton, creative agency Guild’s LA studio—East LA neighborhood of Hawthorne, which borders with Inglewood, Crenshaw, and Compton to be exact—has just dropped with some hype worthy art to celebrate the anticipated film: conceptualized wallpaper patterns that epitomize the vibrant culture that makes up their LA stomping grounds.
Digitally hand-drawn graphics weaved in perfectly within patterns that depict legendary LA landmarks including Randy’s Donuts (you know you’ve been there), the famed Watts Towers, and master musical gents Easy-E and Snoop Dogg. From Purple and Salmon to Sea Foam and yellow, the artsy geniuses at Guild decided to give one of their restrooms a revamp using one of their custom made wallpaper selections, like whoa:
You’re curiosity is probably a bit peaked as to what Guild’s ethos is all about. As usual, we got you covered: With design studios in NYC, Portland and LA and clients like Beats by Dre, Howard Hughes, Opening Ceremony, Proenza Schouler and others, they simply specialize in creating brand experiences and environments.“Guild’s LA studio has benefited so greatly from the crisscrossing cultures in Los Angeles. The city has a multitude of identities that exist side by side. You can easily find a donut place, that’s next to a chinese food spot, next to a rib joint, which sits next to a sushi bar. We wanted a design that showed our eclectic city. That is LA to us,” noted Jeffrey Hatfield, Co-Founder of Guild. Sounds a lot like us and we like that.
In fact, they went further in their unmatched wallpaper campaign and created 1) A #StraightOuttaHawthorne Spotify playlist, set to help you channel your inner G and 2) Pinterest board flavor that will show you the groundwork inspiration in this unique form of interior design. We know we’re getting that paper.
