Family Festival Productions Moves From Monrovia to Arcadia

By Terry Miller

Family Festival Productions, Inc. (FFPI) has informed the merchants that are part of Monrovia’s Friday Night Family Street Fair that they have been selected to operate a ‘festival’ on Friday evenings in Arcadia and distributed a flyer this past week notifying vendors.

FFPI has run the Friday evening event virtually since its inception in Monrovia.  Last fall, the council decided not to renew its contract with Family Festival Productions and instead granted only a six-month extension of that agreement and ordered the matter be reviewed after an RFP was sent out.  At that time, Dave Gayman, who heads up FFP, indicated that he had already entered into several contracts with his suppliers

–  The transition of the management of the Friday Night Family Street Fair to LA Partyworks, Inc., has been moving forward smoothly, according to the city manager of Monrovia, Oliver Chi.

–  LA Partyworks, Inc. is in the process of finalizing their overall vendor list for the Friday Night Family Street Fair, and staff has been monitoring their progress closely during these past few weeks

–  The first meeting that LA Partyworks, Inc. will have with the Oversight Committee is tentatively scheduled to take place at some point within the next two weeks according to the Monrovia city manager.

Arcadia Council is slated to vote on the project next meeting, June 2.
