The Monrovia Providers Group (MPG) hosted its fourth “Care Café” for grateful Foothill area residents age 60 plus with memory loss or physical disabilities and their care partners (spouse, adult child, friend or paid caregiver) on Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Monrovia Community Center.
The Care Café gave almost 40 attendees the opportunity to relax, have fun, learn about local resources and enjoy a delicious lunch of hearty sandwiches and mouth-watering tomato basil soup generously provided by Monrovia’s Market Grill, with an array of tempting desserts provided by Rivanis Baking Company.
MPG members, ComForcare, Grandcare, and Care4You provided trained caregivers for those who required assistance so that everyone could unwind and enjoy the programs offered: Chair Yoga, lead by Junie Lee of Brain & Body Yoga; and “Memories In The Making,” facilitated by The Alzheimer’s Association.
Attendees were also invited to indulge in a mini-manicure courtesy of several Citrus College of Cosmetology students or a mini-massage from local massage therapists, Katie Feamster and Phil Mitchell.
Some comments from our evaluation forms:

The next Care Café will be announced shortly.
