Bicos Hospitality Inc. was founded in 2006 by brothers John and Chris Bicos. The company owns The Original Tops, Magnolia House, and Gus’s BBQ restaurants in Pasadena. Before founding Bicos Hospitality, the two brothers were no strangers to the restaurant business. Both worked in restaurants, including their father’s, for years before starting the company. Their father Steve Bicos started The Original Tops restaurant in 1952. Eventually, the brothers came to run the restaurant.
Around the time that John and Chris founded Bicos Hospitality, they purchased and remodeled Gus’s BBQ in South Pasadena. In 2014, the Magnolia Lounge on Lake Avenue became available for purchase, so they bought the property, remodeled and rebranded it, and opened it as their newest concept, the Magnolia House, in October of last year.
At Magnolia House, they offer a hospitality-driven experience that makes them unique. They have a personable staff, a small plate menu with inspiration taken from different parts of the world, and a unique selection of delicious craft cocktails. Their happy hour is Monday through Friday, 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
