Whole Foods Market stores go the distance; partner with local nonprofit
Whole Foods Market’s Arroyo and Pasadena stores will donate five percent of net sales on June 5 to help strengthen local families for long-term success
On June 5, Whole Foods Market will help shoppers support local children and families with a Community Giving Day to benefit Five Acres — a local nonprofit dedicated to providing resources to strengthening at risk families. The historied organization provides successful solutions to more than 6,500 children and families in crisis every year throughout Southern California.
“Partnering with Whole Foods Market will help raise public awareness and much-needed funds, allowing Five Acres to provide critical resources to continue our mission of strengthening local families for long-term success and ensuring safe, loving environments for children in need,” said Jay Sanders, chief advancement officer of Five Acres.
The following Whole Foods Market stores will be participating in the upcoming Community Support Day with Five Acres:
• Whole Foods Market Arroyo 465 S. Arroyo Parkway, Pasadena, CA 91105
• Whole Foods Market Pasadena 3751 E. Foothill Boulevard, Pasadena, CA 91107
As part of its commitment to supporting local causes in the communities in which it works, all of Whole Foods Market’s locations nationwide hold Community Support Days several times a year and donates five percent of that day’s net sales to a local nonprofit or educational organization.
“Five Acres is an organization that strives to create positive change by providing for children who will one day lead our communities,” said Cindy Estorga, Whole Foods Market Arroyo Parkway, marketing supervisor of Whole Foods Market. “In California alone, there are more than 58,000 children in the foster care system. Every child deserves a safe, loving and permanent family. We couldn’t be happier to contribute to making that vision come to life.”
Founded in 1888, Five Acres has been caring for children in need, connecting them with safe, loving families and strengthening families for long-term success. The programs they provide include residential care and education, mental health services in homes and schools, foster care and adoptions, domestic violence prevention and a non-public WASC accredited school.
