Monrovians plan city’s future
For several months the city of Monrovia has been holding brainstorming session with local community groups to discover the priorities of its citizens. With lower revenues and the loss of redevelopment as a tool for community growth, the City has been investigating what its citizens see as important goals for the community.
One city wide public meeting was held last month at the Community Center with more than 50 residents and Monrovia business owners participating. A second and final community meeting will be held this Saturday, January 12 from 9 to 11 am at Calvary Chapel, 123 W. Pomona Avenue in Monrovia.
In addition, suggestions can be made on the city’s planning website: PlanMonrovia@ci.monrovia.ca.us, or by texting (626) 219-0845. Suggestions, ideas and questions can also be phoned in to (626) 932-5555 x1402.
This is an opportunity for every resident to have a voice in the city’s strategic plan according to Mayor Mary Ann Lutz.
