Arcadia PD
Sunday, September 16:
At about 3:38 a.m., an officer made consensual contact with two subjects in the 300 block of East Foothill Boulevard. An investigation revealed one subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. The 19-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 11:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East Longden Avenue regarding an attempted residential burglary report. The resident observed a female subject tampering with her screen door. Upon being confronted, the subject asked for an unknown resident and quickly walked toward an awaiting black SUV. The subject is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 35 to 40-years-old, with brown hair, light complexion, and wearing a red t-shirt. No evidence was located.
Monday, September 17:
Shortly after 12:00 p.m., an officer was dispatched to USA Dinseng City, 1240 South Golden West Avenue, regarding a theft report. A male suspect picked up two bags of dried sea cucumbers, valued at about $2,000, and loaded them into an awaiting vehicle described as a white four-door sedan. The suspect and vehicle can be identified if seen again.
Around 1:00 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia High School, 180 Campus Drive, in reference to a student in possession of a knife. The male subject brought a three-inch dagger, lighters, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia to school. The 17-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Tuesday, September 18:
At about 2:46 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the area of Santa Anita Avenue and Norman Avenue. As the officer explained the listed violation, the driver revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine. The 37-year-old White male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 5:43 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of West Naomi Avenue in regards to a male subject yelling and cursing in the street. An investigation revealed the subject was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The 61-year-old White male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Wednesday, September 19:
At about 1:30 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a blue Infinity in the 000 block of East Huntington Drive for expired registration. As the officer approached the vehicle, he observed a fraudulent registration sticker on the license plate. A vehicle search revealed the driver was in possession of personal identifying information for approximately thirty-four people and stolen property including mail and new credit cards. The 42-year-old Black male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 11:25 a.m., an officer responded to Avus Traffic School, 333 North Santa Anita Avenue #1, in regards to a possible fraud. An investigation revealed a previous employee stole blank DMV certificates (for traffic school completion) and was issuing them to people in exchange for money. The 53-year-old female of unknown race was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, September 20:
Shortly after 4:00 a.m., officers responded to Hollywood Noodle, 48 East Live Oak Avenue, in regards to an activated alarm. Upon arrival, the officers observed two juveniles climbing out of the business through a broken window and ordered them to the ground. One subject was detained while the other fled northbound on Live Oak Avenue. Officers recognized his identity and later arrested him at his residence. An investigation revealed the 13 and 14-year-old Hispanic males ransacked the restaurant and stole approximately $100 from the register. Both suspects were booked at the Arcadia City Jail and later released to their parents.
At approximately 6:23 p.m., and officer was dispatched to the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Burnell Oaks Lane regarding a two-party traffic accident. One of the drivers made a left turn in front of oncoming traffic and collided with an SUV, causing the driver of the SUV to lose control and hit a tree. No injuries were reported.
Friday, September 21:
Just before 1:00 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an unsafe turn in the area of Santa Anita Avenue and the 210 freeway. Upon contact with the driver, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol level greater than .08 percent. The 21-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 5:30 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Macy’s at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in reference to a theft report. A female subject concealed merchandise inside her purse and exited the store without making payment. The 21-year-old Hispanic female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Saturday, September 22:
Shortly after 2:50 p.m., an officer made consensual contact with a male subject in the area of Huntington Drive and La Cadena Avenue. An investigation revealed the subject was under the influence of alcohol and had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The 39-year-old Hispanic male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 10:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Huntington Drive and East Baldwin Avenue regarding a fight in progress between two males. As the officers arrived, both subjects fled the area on foot. One subject was detained while the other evaded capture. An investigation revealed the detained subject, a 34-year-old Hispanic male, was under the influence of alcohol and had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Theft From a Vehicle
September 6 at 1:41 a.m., a theft from an unlocked vehicle was reported in the 300 block of East Hillcrest. The vehicle was parked in the victim’s driveway. The victim heard noises, looked out his window and saw an unknown suspect exit his vehicle and run eastbound. A purse was stolen from the vehicle. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 25-30 years old, medium build, wearing a white shirt, white shorts and white shoes. The investigation is continuing.
Gang Injunction – Suspects Arrested
On September 7 at 8:56 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Duarte for a littering violation. Upon contacting the occupants, the officer found the three occupants to be in violation of Monrovia’s gang injunction. The occupants were arrested for the violation and later released on a citation.
Burglary
On September 7 at 10:44 p.m., police responded to a business in the 100 block of West Foothill regarding a burglary. A security guard in the parking lot observed two females exit a vehicle and place black tape across the rear license plate to obstruct it. The two females entered the business and the guard remained in the parking lot to monitor the vehicle. Several minutes later, the two females exited the market with a shopping cart full of store merchandise. As the females approached their vehicle, they saw the security guard and fled on foot, leaving the merchandise and their vehicle behind. The officer who responded recovered enough evidence to establish a burglary and to possibly identify one of the suspects. The vehicle was stored and the investigation is continuing.
Vehicle Burglaries
On September 8, four vehicle burglaries were reported throughout the day. The burglaries occurred in the 400 block of East Cypress, the 800 block of West Hillcrest and in the 600 and 700 blocks of West Foothill. The entry into the vehicles appears similar and was possibly made by the same suspect(s). The door locks on all four vehicles were broken to gain entry. The investigation is continuing.
Felon in Possession of Body Armor – Suspect Arrested
September 10 at 4:20 p.m., a speeding vehicle in the 2100 block of South Myrtle was stopped by an officer on patrol. The driver was identified and found to be on felony probation. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted and a bullet resistant vest was found in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested for the charge of felon in possession of body armor.
Fire Assist
September 10 at 10:09 p.m., officers responded to a local private college in the 100 block of East Huntington due to smoke coming from the roof of the building. The Foothill Air Support Team helicopter was on scene as officers arrived to check for flames. Air Support advised that the smoke was coming from the northwest corner of the roof. Officers evacuated the entire building and stopped northbound traffic on Myrtle and westbound traffic on Huntington. The Monrovia Fire Department arrived and located an air conditioning unit on the roof that was on fire and put the fire out. There were no injuries involved.
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
September 11 at 4:01 a.m., an officer on patrol stopped a male adult riding a bicycle at Peck and Longden for a traffic violation. Prior to any search, the subject stated he was on parole and had methamphetamine in his pocket. The officer retrieved a small plastic container that contained methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
September 11 at 10:08 a.m., a couple was arguing in the lobby of a hotel located in the 900 block of West Huntington and police were requested. The subjects left the location prior to officers arriving, but were found nearby in a parking lot. The officers contacted the subjects and determined the male subject to be under the influence of drugs. He was arrested and taken into custody.
Burglary
September 11 at 9:58 p.m., a male subject at a gym in the 700 block of East Huntington put his property in a locker and secured it. When he returned to the locker, he found his lock missing and his wallet stolen. Investigation continuing.
Possession of a Methamphetamine Pipe / Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License – Suspect Arrested
September 12 at 3:57 p.m., Special Enforcement Team officers on patrol observed a driver acting suspiciously in the north end of the city. While the officers were following the suspect, they saw the driver throw a glass pipe out of the vehicle. When the officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver slowed down, but did not stop for several hundred yards, eventually stopping at Foothill and Heliotrope. The suspect was also found to be driving on a suspended license. He was arrested for the above listed charges without further incident.
Grand Theft Auto – Suspect Arrested
September 12 at 7:33 p.m., an officer on patrol saw a suspect walking in the area of Canyon and Foothill that was wanted for grand theft auto. The suspect was arrested without incident. The suspect was later found to be in possession of items that belonged to residents who live in the 300 block of Wildrose. When officers contacted the residents, it was learned they were victims of unreported thefts which occurred on September 10. An unknown suspect had stolen their wallets from their two unlocked cars. The victims identified their stolen property, and the suspect was additionally charged with receiving stolen property.

Sierra Madre PD
Saturday September 15
At 9:15pm, a resident on Mountain Trail Avenue was inside his residence when he heard the sound of a traffic collision outside. He went outside to investigate and found his vehicle, which had been parked at the curb, had been sideswiped by another vehicle. The other party left the scene without leaving a note or any identifying information.
Monday September 17
An officer observed a traffic violation occur on Michillinda Avenue and subsequently stopped the vehicle. During the stop the officer discovered that an unloaded handgun was in the center console within reach of the driver and ammunition for the weapon was nearby. The driver, a 35 year old male, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle.
At 3:30pm a vehicle versus bicycle collision took place on Monterey Lane just south of Sierra Madre Boulevard. A child riding his bicycle on his residence driveway entered the roadway and was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound. The child sustained a number of visible injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Saturday September 22
At 7:45pm, officers observed a vehicle travelling southbound on Michillinda Avenue at a high rate of speed. After stopping the vehicle, the officer determined that the driver had been drinking and his driving impaired. The driver (male 58 years of age) was arrested for DUI.
