2012 La Cañada Flintridge Shakespeare Festival

Beginning Friday, June 29th, and running through Sunday, August 5th, VanguardRep will present its 3rd annual summer festival, La Cañada Flintridge Shakespeare Festival (LCFShakes). Inspired adaptations of Shakespeare’s classic love stories Juliet &her Romeo and 12th Nightwill play in repertory Thursday through Sunday evenings in the beautiful outdoor Byrnes Amphitheater on the historic campus of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy (former site of the famous Biltmore Hotel, only minutes from Glendale/Pasadena).
Opening first will be Juliet &her Romeo created and developed by VanguardRep’s Matthew Kellen Burgos. This three-person deconstruction examines choice vs. fate and the impact of time on the powerful and ethereal force of love through the eyes of Shakespeare’s immortal star-crossed lovers. It’s a re-imagining of the classic not to be missed!
Showing in rep will be Sam Ross’ fast-paced, hilarious and physical adaptation of the popular comedy 12th Night that will be sure to make you laugh out loud!
You won’t want to miss the perfect family night opportunity: a picnic and entertainment under the stars, on the crest of the scenic San Rafael Hills with breathtaking panoramic views of the San Gabriel Valley and Pasadena Rose Bowl.
