MOMS Club of Monrovia Donates Supplies to for the Love of Animals

Group’s annual service project provides food and comfort for abandoned and abused pets
The MOMS Club of Monrovia, a support group and club for stay-at-home mothers in Monrovia, Duarte, Bradbury and El Monte today completed a service project with the donation of more than $125 of supplies to For The Love Of Animals (FLA), a Monrovia-based animal rescue and welfare organization that operates across the San Gabriel Valley.
The Club’s donation included dog and cat food, cat litter, bedding and funds to help FLA provide spaying and neutering services. These will enable FLA to continue caring for both dogs and cats rescued from neglectful homes or animal shelters from around the San Gabriel Valley.
The donation was presented by MOM’s Club of Monrovia President Erin Hurley and other members to Jo Porter, founder and head of For The Love of Animals.
“Each year MOMS Club of Monrovia chooses service projects that help charitable causes in the local area that make our community stronger and better for families,” said Hurley. “These projects are an integral part of our annual calendar of activities that includes playdates for children and their mothers, field trips, ‘moms’ nights out,’ discussion groups, business meetings and other events.”
Hurley added, “For the Love of Animals does great work in its mission of caring for animals and that love and dedication is the foundation of a great community for kids and families.”
MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) is a club/support group for mothers who stay at home to raise their children. We include mothers of all ages, as well as those who work part time or out of their homes. We have several things in common: we want to enrich our lives, the lives of our children and the communities we live in, by coming together, sharing our experiences, and pooling our resources. The MOMS Club of Monrovia was established in 2006 and it is an energetic group that has something for everyone! MOMS Club of Monrovia serves the cities of Monrovia, Duarte, Bradbury, and El Monte. About For the Animals:
For the Love of Animals Dog and Cat Rescue was formed 12 years ago to sponsor dogs and cats in need from shelters and private residences throughout Southern California. This sponsorship includes: providing funds to medicate and board sick dogs and cats at veterinary hospitals; increasing permanent adoptions through weekly adoption events; and raising awareness about the humane and responsible treatment of companion animals during these adoption events.
