The Santa Anita Bowling Green Club held their annual General Membership Meeting on Thursday, December 3rd at their club house at the Arcadia County Park in Arcadia.  The slate of officers was presented to the assembled members of the club, w hereafter they were unanimously voted into office by their fellow club members. They will assume their duties effective the 5th of December 2009. And serve for all 2010.

The new officers are include Jim Miller as President,  Steve Dowd as 1st Vice President, Gayle Plunkett as 3rd Vice President and Shuman Chan as the club’s Treasurer.  This is the 3rd time Gayle Plunkett has been 3rd VP, a position including responsibilities as Tournament Director and organizer for the annual City of Hope Triples Tournament in June. The 2010 City of Hope Triples Tournament will be the 40th year the club has partnered with the hospital to put on the event.  Over the past 3 years, Plunkett has presented a City of Hope representative with checks amounting to over $3,000.00 each year through funds raised at the popular event.

The Santa Anita Bowling Green Club has been in existence since 1937, making this its the 72nd year in the same location. With four greens and a capacity of up to 32 rinks,  the club house at he Arcadia County Park is one of the finest lawn bowling complexes in the state and perhaps the nation.
