

Quick Work by Paramedics Saves Boy, Currently in Critical Condition
On Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 5:36 p.m., Arcadia Police officers, along with Arcadia Fire Department personnel, responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Oaklawn Rd, in the city of Arcadia, on the report of a drowning victim.
On arrival, responding fire department personnel immediately began CPR on a five-year-old male and subsequently transported him to Methodist Hospital of Southern California. The victim is currently in critical condition but breathing on his own.
Initial investigation revealed several children were swimming in the backyard pool when the victim was observed under the water. The victim was quickly removed from the pool by his mother and life-saving efforts were started.
The case is under investigation by detectives from the Arcadia Police Department. Anyone with information should call (626) 574-5150.
