Luxury Australian ready-to-wear and swim brand, Zimmermann, opened its new flagship store on the iconic Melrose Place this past week. The flagship is the brand’s second store in Los Angeles, the first opening in 2011 on Robertson Boulevard.
Founded by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann in Sydney in 1991, Zimmermann prides itself on its “sophisticated femininity, clever color combinations and delicate, original prints.”
The new 3,000 square-foot Zimmermann location will house a large selection of the brand’s “ready-to-wear” offerings as well as key pieces from the swim collection. Designed by Meacham Nockles Macqualter, the new flagship store’s aesthetic truly parallels the clean, fresh aesthetic and seductively understated and overall casual feel of the Zimmermann brand.
“I’m so happy to be opening our new store on Melrose Place – we have been looking for a more expansive flagship space for a while and I’ve always loved that relaxed and elegant feeling of the street – it feels like a little LA sanctuary. The original antiques store had great bones and we’ve really tried to keep some of those original features so its stays feeling true to the street. I love the vaulted ceilings and flashes of natural light that come through the domes – it’s a really lovely canvas for us to present our collections to clients.” – Nicky Zimmermann, Founder and Creative Director
The new flagship store is a great advancement for the Australian-born brand, as the company continues to build momentum in the US market. The shop is now open to the public at 8468 Melrose Place. The hours of business will be Monday – Saturday, 10AM-6PM, and Sunday from 12PM-6PM.
