Jake Paul Trolls Biden
Hey Socal! This week, insta-douche Jake Paul trolled President Biden on Twitter. And we should definitely take him seriously, because when it comes to thought provoking political analysis, our most trusted source is the guy who tasers rats and assaults NBA mascots. He’s the Alexis de Tocqueville of dirtbags. And for more news you may have missed, Mike Ciriaco is bringing it back to your brain with this week’s Deja News.
The Los Angeles Unified School District will ease its COVID-19 testing requirement for students and staff, announcing Tuesday that such tests will only be required for those experiencing virus symptoms and those who have been exposed to the virus.
The change will take effect Monday, and is based on “guidance of our medical advisers and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health,” according to a social media post by the district.
Who’s the windy city now, Chicago? The National Weather Service sent out a wind advisory for Los Angeles on Monday. Winds in the Los Angeles Mountains varied from 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts hitting speeds of 60 mph! Talk about crazy weather! Make sure you park your cars away from power poles and trees when the next advisory hits!
The Farmer John meatpacking plant in Vernon — a frequent target of protests by animal-rights advocates critical of the treatment of pigs at the facility — will close next year, with its Virginia-based owner Friday citing the rising costs of doing business in California.
According to Smithfield Foods, the plant will close in early 2023. The company is also exploring “strategic options to exit its farms in Arizona and California.”
Mike Ciriaco will be back next week with another Deja News. Until then, catch up on the Ukraine War’s connection to SoCal with the video series To Ukraine With Love.
