An “Action and Education Forum Against Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery” will be offered on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. at St. Anthony Greek Orthodox Church, located at 778 S. Rosemead Blvd. in Pasadena.

A comprehensive panel of guest speakers will include: testimony from a survivor of human trafficking; a representative from LA County Sheriff’s Department Task Force on Human Trafficking; Lisa Coen from the District Attorney’s office, and Susan Patterson, author of “How You Can Fight Human Trafficking.”

Chair of the Ecumenical Patriarchal Task Force on Modern Slavery, and director of PAOI at the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley, Metropolitan Nikitas, will be speaking on the ecumenical work against human trafficking and slavery. This forum is hosted by united Orthodox communities and is not a fundraiser.

Admittance is free, snacks and refreshments will be served, and seating will be provided. Walk-ins will be welcomed up to seating capacity.

The goal of this forum is to galvanize action, educate local communities and discuss what individuals can do to fight human trafficking and modern slavery.
