Arcadia Crime Blotters: Feb. 16–22
Feb. 16
At 1:45 a.m., an officer responded to the Station Bar located at 1218 South Baldwin Ave,., regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed two females engaged in an argument resulting in the suspect punching the victim in the face and body. The suspect, a 42-year-old female from El Monte, is outstanding as of Feb. 25.
At approximately 6:33 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of East Santa Clara Street, regarding a robbery report. The officer discovered the victim believed he was completing a currency exchange when the suspects robbed him. A 35-year-old male and a 35-year-old female, from Rowland Heights. The investigation is ongoing.
Feb. 17
Just after 11:26 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Greenfield Avenue, regarding a burglary report. The officer determined an unknown suspect opened the unlocked garage door and activated the alarm. The loss is unknown. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
At approximately 2:54 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed the victim was lured into purchasing gift cards in the amount of $1,600 and then provided the card numbers to the suspect(s). The investigation is ongoing.
Feb. 18
Around 9:59 a.m., an officer responded to the 12000 block of Clark Street, regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect smashed the window to an attached trailer, ransacked the vehicle, and fled with and unknown amount of property. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 2:29 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of West Naomi Avenue, regarding a mail theft report. The officer determined an unknown suspect forced open a community mailbox and fled with stolen mail. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Feb. 19
Around 11:10 a.m., an officer responded to Vons located at 745 West Naomi Ave., regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect purchased three gift cards in the amount of $1,500 but then switched the gift cards for blank ones and requested a refund. The suspect fled with his original $1,500 and the gift cards. The investigation is ongoing.
Shortly after 5:50 p.m., an officer responded to Vons located at 745 West Naomi Ave., regarding a petty theft report. A panhandler asked the victim for money and when the victim opened her wallet, the panhandling suspect reached into her wallet and stole $20. The suspect is described as a 20-year-old female, possibly of Indian descent.
Feb. 20
Before 6:49 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of South Fourth Avenue, regarding a mail theft report. Sometime during the previous night, unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s mail. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
Around 4:52 p.m., officers responded to Vons located at 745 West Naomi Ave., regarding a possession of stolen property report. A suspect was seen stealing various items from the store and fleeing in a light colored minivan. Officers located the van and during a records check of the suspect, discovered the 39-year-old male from Pomona had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Feb. 21
At about 9:03 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Center Pharmacy located at 631 W. Duarte Road, regarding a commercial burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects cut a hole in a neighboring business’ roof, then tunneled through the initial business into the adjacent pharmacy and ultimately fled with $500 worth of prescription medications. The suspects are described as two males, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with hooded sweatshirts and gloves. The investigation is ongoing.
Just before 1:33 p.m., an officer responded to the 600 block of Sunset Boulevard, regarding an aggravated assault report. An investigation revealed an altercation between neighbors resulted in the suspect threatening with two knives. A records check revealed the suspect was also in violation of a restraining order. The 23-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Feb. 22
Shortly after 12:35 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s located at 400 South Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft report. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects stole $843 worth of merchandise before fleeing. One of the suspects was identified as a 45-year-old male from North Las Vegas and the second outstanding suspect is described as a 40 to 45-year-old female. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 10:11 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Longden Avenue, regarding a burglary report. The officer discovered unknown suspect(s) forced open a rear window but fled empty handed. The investigation is ongoing.
