Man arrested in connection with DTLA follow-home robbery; Others sought
A 21-year-old man suspected of participating in a follow-home robbery that led to a shootout in downtown Los Angeles was behind bars Wednesday.
Police are seeking the public’s help to identify at least four additional suspects.
The victim was returning to a residence in the 800 block of South Hope Street just after 2:10 a.m. Saturday when he “was physically attacked by five suspects,” according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“During the confrontation, the victim resisted and an exchange of gunfire occurred between the victim and multiple armed suspects, resulting in the victim sustaining multiple gunshot wounds,” according to the LAPD.
The suspects fled the scene in a white sedan, possibly a late model Nissan Sentra, following the shooting.
The victim was taken to a hospital.
Justin Alphonso Sanchez was identified as a suspect and arrested on Saturday as he sought medical attention for a gunshot wound sustained in the shootout, according to the LAPD.
Sanchez is being held without bail at the Men’s Central Jail.
